Introduction

Most weekdays I am awakened by the obnoxious sound of my wife’s alarm going off, and as she scurries off into the bathroom to put on her makeup and get her hair ready, I begin the day by putting one of my screens in front of my face to scroll through Facebook, TikTok, or Twitter. Today was no different.

I pulled up TikTok, and the first video I came across was someone asking the question, “What do you think you see if you looked into the Mirror of Erised?”

I don’t know if it was the fact that I’ve been internally struggling with a lot things lately or if it was the stress that I am under or if it was me not getting enough sleep, but that was a question I couldn’t handle that early in the morning. Honestly, it’s a not a question that I can wrestle with in any other way than to write about it.
