One of the things I think is so funny is that people will often say things like, “I don’t believe in predestination” or “I don’t believe in election.” There’s a problem with that. The problem is that if the Bible uses a particular word or phrase, you’ve got to do something with that. You can disagree with someone on what election or predestination means, but you can’t just dismiss those words because the Bible uses them to talk about real concepts, and it’s always dangerous when you start trying to dismiss the Bible when it uses words or phrases that you “don’t believe in.”
